Chamblee RB Norman picks Vanderbilt over Georgia Tech
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

One week after participating in a camp at Vanderbilt, Chamblee running back Warren Norman pulled the trigger on a commitment to the Commodores.
Norman confirmed to The State Sunday night that he will sign a letter of intent with Vanderbilt in Feb. 2009. He’ll join former Chamblee teammate Taylor Loftley, a freshman at the Nashville, Tenn.-based university.
“[Vanderbilt has] great coaches,” Norman told the AJC. “They just want to win. They feel like they need a couple of great players to win, and they said I’m one of them.”
The 5-foot-10, 191 pound back chose the Commordores over Georgia Tech and Iowa State.

I wish him well at Vandy, but I would like to see the Jackets signing some more horses. There’s a long way to go yet, but if you check it out you will see that several schools have already gotten some excellent recruitment classes, with room left to even get better.

Contrary to some reports, Warren Norman did not have an offer from Georgia Tech…FWIW.

Isn’t it amazing how after a guy announces his decision, all the other schools want to deny that they even wanted him?
I always wish GA Tech well. But I have to admit, I’m looking forward to Oct. 31, 2009 and Tech’s visit to the Music City.

Yeah Beavis, right. I’ve heard it before. If a player doesn’t sign with GT they “did not have an offer”. Uh huh, sure thing, and O.J. didn’t do it.

Funny, Norman has a written scholarship offer in his possession but Beaver says it isn’t so. Maybe he should mail the offer to you for your sacred verification.

Rivals also has GT listed as a school who has offered Norman…Face it he choose another school over us. Norman is a good ball player but if you look at the current GT depth chart we have alot of Frosh & Soph who will be competing for the A-Back position. Greg Smith, Roddy Jones, Antonio Wright and Embry Peeples are all competing this summer for the position.

Kid could change his mind 10 times before signing day, these are all just “VERBAL” committments, don’t mean a thing until they sign on the dotted line. We’ll see where he ends up.
