Henry County WR Patterson unsure about new Ga. Tech offense

Henry County wide receiver Jamal Patterson, who has about 50 scholarship offers, said he is taking a wait-and-see attitude with Georgia Tech.

“I met all the new coaches and really liked them,” Patterson said. “And they told me that they are going to throw the ball out of the [flexbone]. But I need to watch a few games first and see what’s going on before I really know how I feel about Georgia Tech.”

The 6-foot-3, 202-pound Patterson said Tech’s coaches have been understanding and invited him to some of the early home games to see the offense up close.

Patterson already has a closer feel to the situation than most other recruits. His teammmate last season at Henry County, wide receiver Chris Jackson, was an early commitment to Tech, but expressed concerns about the offense after the coaching change and signed with Alabama.

Patterson already has a closer feel to the situation than most other recruits. His teammate last season at Henry County, wide receiver Chris Jackson, was an early commitment to Tech, but signed with Alabama after Tech refused to bribe his coach, refused to guarantee an offer to Drew Little, and simply refused to play the recruiting game under the table.

There, I fixed it for you.

I know they will come out of the woodwork but I can’t help myself. There is an article today about how Urban Meyer is still upset about the Georgia celebration last year. The defense you kept hearing from dawg fans was a fight did not occur so it was genius and no big deal. They were fortunate a fight didn’t happen last year but this will probably end up starting a fight this year and the year after that and the one after that. It was wrong, it was dangerous and it will have repercussions that will last years. Say what you want but Richt made a big mistake. Everybody makes a mistake but his apology included an excuse, “I only meant the offense”. Apologies with excuses are not good, I question the truth of his excuse but even if true it’s still a poor head coach for ateam where he is suppose to be teaching kids. Enough said.

What an idiot you are… Tech did offer Drew on his own merit, but due to the coaching / offense changes, neither Chris or Drew wanted to play in the wishbone. Good luck finding a WR that actually wants to catch the ball or a QB that actually wants to throw the ball to play in that offense.
