Norcross players pick ACC schools
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Two Norcross football players committed to ACC schools on Monday.
Prince Kent, a defensive back and wide receiver, announced his intentions to attend the University of Miami, and D.J. Adams, a running back, said he will play at Maryland.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Kent also will play safety for Norcross. Scout.com has Kent ranked No. 38 among safeties in the country. He runs a 4.5-second 40.
Kent grew up in Fort Lauderdale and said he felt at home at Miami. He picked the Hurricanes over Georgia, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina.
Adams, who rushed for 1,462 yards last season, chose the Terrapins over Clemson, Notre Dame, Auburn and Georgia.
The 5-10, 212-pound Adams is a powerful runner with the ability to make people miss. Adams, who also runs a 4.5 40, is a good receiver, Norcross coach Keith Maloof said.
Adams said he chose Maryland, in part, because coaches told him that he’ll have the opportunity to play as a freshman. Adams is ranked No. 60 among running backs.

How does a person choose Maryland over a school that never offered him? UGA never offered Adams. Best of luck to you young men.

Hey Dan the dolt, you rube UGa fans just kill the rest of us fans. Can you not get over the fact that a young player has other options and this one in particular, an interest in the fine school up at College Park. Karma is a b*** and you and your silly comrades who pop off ad nauseum will have it coming real soon. It won’t be pretty if yall lose one of your early games and your MNC chances evaporate.

Titus, the fact is neither Tech, Georgia, nor Auburn had offered the young man at this time. Adams chose Maryland over Clemson, FSU, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Mississippi State, while the blog insinuates that Georgia and Auburn were part of the mix. I believe that was what Don was trying to communicate.
Best of luck to both young men in Coral Gables and College Park.

I personally think TOO emphasis has been placed on recruiting and early committments and not on winning and teamwork. Look at all the hype Brice Butler and Devonta Bolton had and the Blue Devils lost BAD to the Ridge and got trounced by a much inferior team in Grayson ending a season with high expectations. So, you folks in the Blue Devil nation STOP with the INDIVIDUALISM! ! ! ! Davis is not that good and is expremely slow - Garcia is too soft. You don’t have to be productive to be recruited: Kent had 2 or 3 receptions at WR and no Picks @ DB in two years. He gave up more TD’s than breakups and you wonder why the U isn’t the U anymore. However, Adams is the real deal and highly productive but - that can’t be said of all these highly recruited players. I think if you put more emphasis on being productive you know only enhance yourself but you elevate your team.

Doboi It is important for you to understand the whole picture. The recruiting process is moved up by the coaches and the University. The young men would not have a chance to commit if the offers were not avail to them. As far as Norcross is concerned, you may contiue the Hate, when you go 22-3 in the last few season I guess some may call that unproductive. To when a State champion many things must come in to play. The ridge can continue to live off of a 8-4 season and being lucky to win/Tie a state fina.
