Peach Co. DB commits to Auburn

Peach County defensive back Reggie Taylor didn’t need long to think about committing to Auburn.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Taylor was offered at Auburn’s camp two weeks ago and decided to accept it on Tuesday.

“It was an easy choice for me,” Taylor said. “They play in the SEC, and they compete for championships. The Auburn coaches treated me well and really made me feel like they wanted me there. It’s good to make the decision so I can focus on my grades and my senior year of football.”

Auburn was Taylor’s first offer, but he also was generating interest from South Carolina, Ole Miss, Ball State, and Middle Tennessee State. Peach County coach Chad Campbell said many colleges were waiting on Taylor’s ACT results, which he took for the first time earlier this month.

“Reggie kind of fell in love with Auburn after visiting in the spring, and the offer kind of sealed the deal,” Campbell said. “Auburn is getting a very smart player who can play anywhere in the secondary, cornerback or safety, and knows how to play in multiple types of coverage.”

Taylor ran a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash at a camp last week.

4.36, WOW!!!!!

Way to go Tubs! Guys who run a true sub 4.4 are not common; 4.36 as a junior in high school is freakish; and AUSOME!

Watch out UGA; we’re going to spoil your party this year.

Too short to a DB in the SEC, that’s why UGA didn’t offer. Good luck defending our receivers who average 6’4” — like a kid defending a man, jump pee-wee jump!

God bless us all, everyone (except GaTech)!

Auburn has the nastiest campus in the SEC, it is like a prop town on a movie set. You venture back behind the first row of storefronts, and there is nothing there — its almost as if they were trying to copy Athens — a movie set of Athens!

God hates GTech (HE told me), they’re qveers & eat boogers!

Ole Yeller, you feed a bad stereotype at UGa. So high and mighty, your school/town, yet folks in Chapel Hill, Charlottesville and Austin look down there noses at the likes of you!!

Good pick up for Auburn

Some of the Georgia DBs with their heights and weights from the current UGA roster. Not too many giants here either. This is typical of most of the SEC at this position.

Braue, Stephen DB
5-11 215 RJr.

Elliot, Eric DB
5-9 175 RFr. Kennesaw, Ga.

VanGorder, Molloy DB
5-8 160 So.

Cuff, Vance WC
6-2 194 So.

Evans, Bryan WC
5-11 188 RJr.

Miller, Prince WC
5-8 190 Jr.

Norton, Christian WC
5-7 160 RSo.

Truth? What’s your point? Chapel Hill looks down on UGA, so what! Over in Durham they’re looking down their noses at UNC, every one you mentioned has someone looking down at them — like I’m doing too! You haven’t won any points on this one.

And, since you’ve brought it up (academics — I was referring solely to athletics), the schools you’ve selected for this comparison, how many more Rhodes Scholars do they have than UGA? UGA has more! Truman Scholars? UGA has more! Churchill Fellows? UGA more! Carnegie Awards? UGA more! Franklin Merits? UGA more! etc, etc.

Oh, and by the way, I’m prettier than you!

..”I looked we put up more than 40 on your great defense”, …a D, which last time I checked, was coached at the time by a uga grad (..or was he a Rhodes, Fullbright or Carnegie scholar?} for both of those experiences.

Mike, of the 7 DB’s (CB’s) you listed on UGA’s roster, 4 are walk-ons…c’mon. And, you left off Asher Allen. However, I’m not saying, nor do I think, that Taylor is too small. In fact, he’s about the average size for a CB…and freaky fast. It’s a good commit for Auburn. Plain and simple, Peach Co. puts out studs. There are sooo many other studs in South Georgia that just don’t get the pub. I’m just saying…

God reading a blog that’s been touched by a UGA fan is about the most retarded experience you can find on the internet.

It’s amazing checking out the other SEC’s local newspaper sites and coming back to UGA’s. Absolute idiots.

Regardless, 4.36 a year ago and guess what he is even faster now, so for the negative comments, dont worry about. just keep getting faster and work on that footwork and hand-eye coordination.
