Milton long snapper to visit LSU and South Carolina
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Arguably the premier high school long snapper in Georgia, Milton’s Michael Brodsky will attend several camps this summer with two goals in mind: sharpen his skills and land at least one scholarship offer.
Brodsky will participate in a snapping/kicking camp at LSU on June 7. He’ll attend camp at Houston the following day.
His travels will take him to camp at Miami (Ohio) on June 9.
Brodsky will catch his breath for one day before heading to Columbia to attend camp at South Carolina. He’ll board a plane that evening and be prepared for camp at Tulsa on June 12 and 13.
Brodsky, who is scheduled to meet and work out for coach Justin Watts of Middle Tennessee State on Sunday, has also earned an invitation to summer camp at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in July.
“I will also be attending Chris Rubio’s Nike Elite 12 Long Snapping camp in July in Los Angeles,” Brodsky said. “Only the top 12 long snappers in the country are invited.”

Are you kidding me? They have a camp for the best 12 long snappers in the country? And this is news? Good luck to the kid if he can get an education for his skill but this doesn’t deserve mention on a recruiting blog.

This matters to … him, and his parents. Why does this make a National newspaper?

My D&D crew are hoping that the day will soon come that Ultimate Frisbee will be recognized as an NCAA sport, and that the camps will too open for that!

You people are idiots. A long snapper can play a long time in the NFL and make lots of money doing it. Long snapping is a skill that not every player has. Guys are given scholarships at major universities to do nothing but long snapping. I hope this kid lands his scholarship.

Some of you will remember your snide remarks about this kid and his role when your snapper sails one 20 yards over your punter’s head in a big game !!!!!

The lack of class for most of you on these blogs disgusts me. These kids spends hours in the classrooms and playing fields and when they get any positive comments made about them in the press, morons like most of you try your best to belittle them.
My guess is that most of you can’t even bend over and tie your own shoes much less hike a football far enough for a punter or field goal kicker to receive it.
Michael, ignore these idiots, and keep up the good work. Your efforts will be rewarded and they will still be idiots.

Are you kidding me, Longsnappers as a special skill?….and they say kickers are not real football players! At least kickers produce points.

Long snapping is a trmendous skill that is critical to the success of a football team. This kid is not only a great snapper but also a great football player, which the piece doesn’t mention.
If you don’t want to read the blog then nobody is forcing you. If you don’t understand the value of a long snapper to a football team then start following another sport…like women’s figure skating.

Just ask Clemson how important a long snapper is (hint: Tech game a couple of years ago). And the center has other roles to play, especially on punts. I just have to wonder why the need to attack an 18 year old kid who, hopefully, will get to play football for a good team.

This is a good friend of my son and a quality kid. He works hard in the classroom and on the field. Long snappers deserve a lot more credit as they can affect the outocme of a game, good or bad.
Keep up the good work Michael and Good Luck!
