Coaches from Georgia, Illinois, Marshall, Michigan, Ohio State and Ole Miss were on hand to get a glimpse of junior free safety Darren Myles Jr. and his teammates during opening day of spring football practice at Carver on Monday.
“That was totally abnormal,” Carver coach Darren Myles admitted, when asked about the volume of recruiters attending the first day of practice.
“But it’s not a distraction at all. In fact, I’ve always made it know [to the players] when [recruiters] are there.”
Myles, whose marquee scholarship offers are from programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Tennessee, enjoyed a productive day at the Nike camp in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Saturday.
“It went really well,” coach Myles said. “In fact, he was named the most valuable defensive back.
“The Nike traveling staff was impressed with his man-to-man coverage. They knew he was physical and athletic, but they didn’t realize his feet are as quick as they are.”

This is good reporting. If UGA has offered, he’s worth reading about. Keep reporting on the things that matter — legit UGA prospects! If he’s smart. he’ll jump on board the Richt DYNASTY!

It is nice to read something different. This publication rides the devil out of stories, such as Michael Boley’s problems, and this Hutt kid, some of which is new, granted. However, stories are left for days on end I suppose because there just isn’t enough to write about. There is only the Thrashers, Hawks, Falcons, Braves, Tech, UGA, Ga. Force, and soon to be minor league Braves from Gwinnett, as well as all the different sports in college athletics and others. I suppose that just isn’t enough for these less than creative minds of the AJC! How long can it take to write one or less stories per day. I suppose a real job is out of the question, so how about doing the one you have!

I have read about this kid before and he seems like a solid all around young man who is a very talented football player. Would love to land him in Tuscaloosa but good luck to the young man in whatever choice he makes!

The NCAA only recognizes 1 of UGA’s so called “6” national championships. The same people say Tech has…. 4! Sorry Ned. And Jason, Reggie Ball, really? I think we can all agree that he pretty muched sucked, lets move on. I can’t wait to see what you will have to say about Nesbitt win he beats ya’ll. And the 4 of the 7 years you guys beat us, you didn’t. Reggie Ball lost the games for us. So don’t get a big head. Oh and as for the safety, uh… pick Tech? :)

I know this has nothing to do with recruiting - however I want to at least have an opportunity to say it somewhere. I was hit and injured by a drunk driver and lost a family member. I believe that what Joe Hamilton did was an abomination to all families who drive on our public highways. Thank you

Tech man, you amuse me, about as much as seeing you get your little bug butts kicked again. Different coach same outcome. Maybe if you’re very lucky you’ll play in a bowl game in a place with blue turf. Go ahead and start a new coach search. Be a good little boys scout, plan ahead!

Does anyone know what Stanford is doing with all those TE?They have three now with brock sanders committing in march. Each of the other TE comitted are top in the country. What offense does Harbaugh employing there in Palo Alto?
