Lassiter TE receives offer from Clemson

Clemson has jumped on the Philip Lutzenkirchen recruiting bandwagon.

“I received an offer from Clemson [on Tuesday],” the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Lutzenkirchen said earlier today. “I’ve been talking to them since the beginning of the past football season.

“I’ve always thought their program is awesome. I’ve made two visits to Clemson, one to a game last year and to junior day.”

Clemson joins Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Stanford and Troy as programs that have offered a scholarship to the talented Lassiter tight end.

“Auburn is still my front-runner,” he said.

Expect a commitment from Lutzenkirchen during the month of May.

“I plan to commit after spring practice,” he said.

Phillip, Why go to a school who can’t offer you a quality education. Come to Tech and enjoy football plus participate in some of the country’s best Tickle Piles AND get a world class education.

If you think Auburn isn’t a quality education, then I’m guessing you didn’t go to Tech.

Come to Tech! Where there are no females, mediocre sports, and the lack of a true college town.

Go gators.

Dude, go to Stanford. Those schools are going to lose anyway. You might as well get the best education.

As a Dawgs fan, I must say that its a shame that this kid has to scrape the bottom of the barrell regarding the teams recruiting him.. Maybe not Auburn and Clemson, but the rest?? I’d go to Troy State before Tech any day. Tech sucks at everything except long division and Lord of the Rings trivia

Come to Tech where we run an offense designed when Mesopotamia was still the cradle of the earth.

Saban still contacting recruits ‘in person’ this time via webcam. The snake is alive.

Alabama assistant coach Curt Cignetti visited Athens High, which has a Distance Learning Lab that allows Athens students to take online classes by using a live webcam.

Cignetti left behind a web address that Ming used to log on later that day and spend 15-20 minutes talking, through the webcam, with Saban, who was in his office in Tuscaloosa.

Athens High Coach Allen Creasy, who witnessed the conversation, called it “a first from a recruiting standpoint” for his school.

“You could see (Saban’s) facial expressions and hand gestures just as if you were sitting across the desk from him,” Creasy said. “It’s the next-best thing to being there in person.”
