Henry County receiver nabs offer from Georgia Tech

After receiving scholarship offers from nearly every national power throughout the country, Henry County receiver Jamal Patterson finally received some love earlier today from one of the two major colleges in his home state.

“I got an offer from Georgia Tech today,” Patterson said shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Patterson, whose recruiting portfolio features offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, South Carolina, and, as of Monday, Oregon, seemed pessimistic when asked if scholarship-strapped Georgia will also offer.

“I haven’t heard too much from Georgia,” he said.

As for Tech, Patterson is taking a wait-and-see attitude on how often first-year coach Paul Johnson will throw out of his run-oriented offense.

“[Tech linebackers] coach Brian Jean-Mary is a real nice guy,” Patterson said. “I like him a lot.

“He’s tried to tell me how their offense is ran. Our team went there for their spring game, but I wasn’t able to make it.

“I’d like to watch them actually play this year. I know I’ll watch a lot of teams, including Tech.”

Patterson seems intent on keeping his word by evaluating several teams this fall before making a commitment.

“I don’t think I’ll commit anytime soon,” he said.

Patterson, who is scheduled to participate in a region track meet beginning Monday, will participate in the Southeastern All American combine at Auburn on Sunday.

He’ll travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on May 3rd for a combine hosted by Rivals.com.

Please come to gt and help us win in Boise next year. The Blue Turf is kind-of neat and we think of it as Grant Field North. Hey anybody up for some Dungeons & Dragons?

Please, please come to Tech and wear the Old Gold (aka Urine) and White. I’m sure PJ can promise you that you’ll get at least one ball thrown to you per game. It might even be accurate but I wouldn’t count on it.

Wow, why are UGA fans the first ones to comment on tech articles? I guess they need SOMETHING to do between beers.

To RedDawg,

What are you talking about? If you are talking about total NCAA national championships (I’m assuming “Natinial Champs” means national championships) in all sports then you are correct. But this is a football article… so I would assume you are talking about national championships in D1-A football (which are not NCAA championships). In this case you would be wrong. Score: Gatech 4, UGA 2. Oh and techs was more recent (1990 vs 1980).

I love to read comments from Georgia fans. They are most often uniformed and inaccurate not to mention poorly written and hardly distinguishable as English. Reading posts from redneck nation has actually become a highlight in my day.

The word you are looking for is uninformed not uniformed. Better luck next time with your own “poorly written” post.

Nice to know that UGA fans can get off of their sisters long enough to type responses on their mother’s Tandy while she’s away finishing a 2nd shift at Waffle House!

Ofer, wow what cool name. You suck, and are a loser. You post on Tech blogs; maybe next you’ll post on UF’s, then Auburn’s. Wow, dog fans amaze me at how much they come on to other school’s blogs. I used to get a little jealous about the number of dog fans vs. Tech fans, but my girlfriend, a UGA grad, asked me “Do you really want those kind of fans?” You know what I’m talking about. Losers. Even the illegals are wearing red Green Bay Packer hats.

He could go to Bama, but after that he would have to decide on where to go to College.

Never underestimate Nick Saban in recruiting. He’ll get young men to think Abraham Lincoln and Batman were Bama fans.

Actually ofer, either form would be correct. Uniformed, as in their BK uniform, would also also appear to be applicable.

Georgia fans hijack Tech story comments because, well, it’s a little boring this time of day in the trailer park. It’s obvious they’re not spending their time learning anything, like ciphering or their letters or how to spit and not hit anything but the spittoon.

Everybody on here is exactly right. Every single tech blogger is a pimply, dorky, virgin who throws like a girl. And every georgia blogger is a dumb redneck who f*cks his sister and lives in a trailer. Jeez. Would you idiots actually read your posts? GROW UP!!!!!

The AJC is a total joke when it comes to reponsible journalism. Allowing all these childish posts is just unprofessional. I don’t know why anyone seriously interested in recruiting bothers with these blogs.
