Peachtree Ridge’s Minter commits to LSU
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
With LSU’s spring game serving as the backdrop, Peachtree Ridge linebacker Kevin Minter committed to the Tigers earlier today.
“He went over there to watch the spring game and he wanted to [commit] in person,” Peachtree Ridge coach Bill Ballard said.
Minter, who also had scholarship offers from the likes of Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Southern Cal and West Virginia, has been leaning toward LSU for several weeks.
“[LSU] was the leader in the fact that he went over there and visited and felt real comfortable and felt at home,” Ballard said. “He fits in really well with what they do.
“He likes it a whole lot. He likes the coaching staff and the players. I’m happy for him. I think it’s a great situation for him.”

Congrats to Mr. Minter! Cannot wait to see you whipping up on some plainsmen, tiders and gators.
The state of Georgia is absolutely loaded at LB this year. Overall, the talent is down in-state a bit this year, but certainly not at LB. There may be 25 SEC-level LB’s for ‘09. Incredible.

Nope my friend - Dawgs lost no one. They already have 2 linebacker commits for next signing day and are trying hard to get a LB from Columbus, Ga to come aboard. Dawgs don’t have room - did they even offer ???

Maybe that’s why LSU has won 2 natl championships to uga’s 0. A better eye for talent. We have commitments from the #1 player in Texas and 2 in the top 25 in Ga. It’s good to be king.

I must say thanks to most Dog fans for their congrats to both Minter and LSU. The Dawgs have a proud and highly successful program and seem to be ready to make a big move for the BCS next year. But, the Dawgs will have to come through The LSU Tigers this year and the Tigers are still loaded and hope to have something to say that BCS title. Although the Tigers are experienced on the DL and the OL, the QB will inexperience will hold us back this year. But, who knows.
Again, Thanks Dogs
