Tech interested in Flowery Branch’s Drummond

Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are among the schools interested in Flowery Branch fullback Daniel Drummond.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Drummond attended Georgia’s junior day on Saturday and is scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend.

Drummond, one of the top discus and shot put athletes in the state, is an avid weight lifter.

His muscle might one day be put to work in Tech coach Paul Johnson’s run-oriented offense.

“I’ve visited Georgia Tech,” Drummond said. “They’re recruiting me to play fullback in their new triple option offense. Everybody else is recruit me at middle linebacker.”

In the meantime, Drummond can only play the waiting game.

“No offers yet,” he said. “But we’ve all been talking a lot. I feel like the first one will come, but you never really know.

“I can’t really tell what’s real and what’s not.”

Daniel, whatever you do, make sure to listen to all the intelligent responses on this blog.

Better yet…base your decision on what is written below.

When did Daniel Drummond transfer to Flowery Branch High School. I watched him excel as a fullback and linebacker the past two years at West Hall?

With the new Tech offense, FB should be a fun position with great rewards. Something to think about there, Daniel!

FB at yech sit around all year waiting to get pounded by the DAWGS. You could go to yech and probably start 4 years at fb and qb or you could go to UGA, be 5th string and win 4 nc. The girls at yech are ugly and the degree is wothless

78 Dawg, It is people like you who give UGA a bad name.

Daniel, ignore the morons, like 78 Dawg, and hang in there. Good things come to those who wait. Be patient…I’m sure you’ll be hearing good news soon.

To all the true UGA fans, we know you want the “leash law”of these idiots enforced as much as we do. A good rivalry includes cheering for your team. It never includes insulting the kids, coaches, staff, administrators, or any of the families.

Most GA Tech fans want UGA undefeated at the end of the year so a win will be that much sweeter. The same goes for may UGA fans. The better the Tech record is, the better the bowl UGA can go to.

My suggestion to all is if you aren’t interested in adding something of value to the blogs, don’t waste our time. Most of us ignore you. On occasion we will respond if you insult one of the kids.

whoever said most tech fans want the dawgs undefeated at the end of the year so tech can be the first to beat them is wrong. most good tech fans dont want to see the dawgs even win the toss.

web, I’m the one who said real GA Tech fans want to see UGA undefeated when the teams play.

Maybe I should have said players, and former letter winners, from GA Tech, who stepped onto the field with UGA, wanted UGA undefeated when we played them.

You see, most of us played against each other since high school, and have been friends with each other for years. We never wished ill on them, or them on us, and we always enjoyed some good natured ribbing with each other.

When it came time to play around Thanksgiving, I can assure you that both of us wanted the other team to have done well so we could be the one to knock them off their perch and claim bragging rights.

Now if you want UGA to be 0 and 10 when Tech plays them,, that is good for you. But for me, and most of the LetterWinners Club Members, we would just assume UGA be 10 and 0, and GA Tech be the one that ruins their season…

It’s been a looooooong time since Tech “ruined” Georgia’s season.

To Tech Insider - It would be easier to pull for Georgia when they were not playing Tech if it were not for their obnoxious redneck fans. However, i agree with your attitude toward their players(and I will add most of their graduates) that should compose a normal rivalry.
