Chattahoochee quarterback Cross expected to be hot commodity

Chattahoochee coach Terry Crowder believes his junior quarterback, Brendan Cross, has the tools to play that position on the next level.

“I think the word is out right now on him,” Crowder said. “From Texas A&M to Stanford to Central Florida to Wake Forest to Georgia, everybody wants to come in and evaluate him.”

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Cross’ 4.6 speed in the 40 is just one reason he is catching the eyes of recruiters.

“First of all, he’s a leader,” Crowder said. “He wins football games for us. Physically, he has the speed, the ball skills and arm strength that you need.”

Cross, who is still waiting on his first scholarship offer, is the son of former NFL player Randy Cross. He hopes to take several visits this summer.

“He’s going to wait and try to pick out five schools and try to visit those this summer on senior days,” Crowder said.

If Logan Gray can be utilized at another position at UGA, then Cross should see that Richt will find a way to get his athletes on the field.

I think you all need a punch in the nose! This kid is not going to make it at the next level — at least not 1A, not SEC caliber, anyway. He might make a decent QB for some 1AA, or Div II, or Div III school. Or, he could play at GaTech — they like crap there.

Your Mamma loved it in the face.

Ted Turner,

Could you possibly more class-less. You may be a UGA “fan”, but I’ll bet you never graced the inside of a college classroom.

Ted is right. He can play at Vandy or Kentucy, not for the DAWGS! He’s a 2 star recruit, we don’t need that. He should go to Yech or the gayturds. Oh and Ted your mamma loved it in the face to.

I’m going to say it again! With limited scholarships, UGA needs to focus on 4/5 star players, so any players on the fringe will not make it to Georgia in ‘09. RG will be choosing among the best players at each position - look for UGA to be very selective this year. Many have said we’ll wrap up the ‘09 class by the end of Spring. Don’t bet the farm on it… this class won’t be complete until Dec./Jan.

I’d be happy to take the son of an ex-NFL pro bowler, that runs a 4.6 any day. Hey Ted Turner, was that you on CMT’s “My Big Fat Redneck Wedding”?

Dr Merk, well you need to tell the coaches that. Because they already have 2 linebackers committed and I would say that neither of them are even top 5 linebackers in the state of Georgia. Jones, Minter, Mitchell-Thornton, Gillard and Davis are all better than Moody. If you talking Vasser, you got to add Furr, Hawkins and Huzzie ahead of him.
