LSU continues to recruit Georgia commit Moody

Georgia’s rivalry with LSU this year may go beyond its Oct. 25 contest with the Tigers in Baton Rouge.

LSU continues to heavily recruit Emanuel County Institute junior defensive end Dexter Moody, who recently committed to the Dogs.

Moody, who is also being recruited by Clemson, Florida and South Carolina, admitted Tuesday night that he’s willing to listen to LSU.

“A coach from LSU called me about a week ago, but I was in class,” Moody said. “My coach talked to them. I haven’t had a chance to call them back, but I probably will.

“I’ll tell them I have committed to Georgia. But if they ask me to come visit, I’ll try to go out there and take a look, if possible.”

Moody, who was forced to skip Saturday’s junior day in Athens due to a scheduling conflict with a basketball game, said he speaks with a member of the Georgia coaching staff on a regular basis.

“It’s usually [defensive ends] coach Jon Fabris, most of the time, that calls me” Moody said.

Do the coaches teach their kids what a committment means anymore? I’m all for kids looking around but please do it before you give a school your word.

I just wish we could compete with those dawgs who keep signing all these studs. Why don’t we ever read about Ga Tech turning the heads of some of these great in-state players? I’m so depressed by stories like this, I’m gonna go smoke the last joint Reuben sold me.

I don’t think there is any need to worry. If he is in good graces already with CMR and the rest of the coaching staff, then there is a pretty good chance that he will keep his committment firm. UGA has more to offer him than LSU. However, when it all comes down to it one recruit will not make or break us (agreed, it would definatley help though) I am looking forward to a great showdown in the Bayou in the fall!

I’m going to punch him in the nose. He’ll tear-up, and I’ll laugh. You know, after you commit, it is not OK to “look around.”

Do you continue to date other people after you are married? Some do, so I guess it is OK.

Georgia has more to offer than LSU ? Take off the shades, pal.The ambience, the beauty of the campus, the food, the girls and we do have two football NC rings in the last 5 years, I think he’ll see the light. Plus when he walks into Tiger Stadium and recalls the Roman Coliseum, he’ll say “where do I sign ” ? Geaux you football Tigers

It comes down to this:

Mark Richt vs. Les Miles

Mark is the coach to play for, Next to Phil Fatmer and Urban the pencilneck, Les is the biggest DORK in NCAA Football. And Tiger stadium is not as great as you LSU people say it is. It smells like p**!

All you techies need to shut your pieholes until tech actually does something besides being 6-6 and playing in the Blue Turf bowl!

Hey LSwho, that’s what’s wrong with you Georgia people. You think the Men’s Room toilet is a paid for seat. We sit outside in the stadium to watch the game. That way you may enjoy the #1 place to watch a college football game. Look it up ! See you in Baton Rouge—-in Tiger Stadium————-

Dale - Having been to several LSU homegames I can tell one distinct thing about you. You have never been on campus at UGA. Not even close facility wise, atmosphere wise and most importantly women wise - both students and alumni are far more beautiful in Athens.

By MR

The ambiance? The beauty of the campus? Seriously? Have you been to LSU’s campus? Their stadium from the outside looks like an old, abandoned warehouse and the campus buildings are very “eclectic” (and I don’t mean that in a good way). From what I’ve seen, it’s hardly beautiful. LSU girls cannot even compete with Georgia girls. Ask just about anyone and they will rank them way above LSU (but don’t feel so bad, they are definitely way better than the girls at Florida.) You may have us beat on the food, though.

Dexter if you are serious about your commitment then simply tell the other coaches you don’t want any other contact from them. You can always tell them that you may call them, but ask them to stop calling you. If they don’t call the NCAA. it’s as simple as that.

If he is going to play the recruiting game like Allen did, then I say UGA keeps looking for linebackers and if another of equal or greater talent is willing to give a firm committment, you let him go to LSU. Two can play at that game and we don’t need to be burnt again. We can be selective this year.

Most of these verbal agreements are from 16-year-old 11th graders, or in Georgia’s case, a 19-year-old 11th grader. They are fawned over by coaches and showered with promises of national championships and huge NFL contracts, which a few of them realize. It is no wonder that many of them behave as they please when they get on campus.

I’m just glad that Miles didn’t leave for the Michigan job. His coaching is good for at least two losses a year that another coach wouldn’t have. LSWho backed in to the NC and probably should have had 4 losses. Now that Saban’s players are almost gone, LSwho should fall back to their average ways led by their moron coach. While LSWho does have a decent campus, stadium, girls, etc, (It is an SEC school after all), it doesn’t come close to Georgia in any category.

I have no problem with this kid talking to LSU or any other program.

The realty is that the kids who commit early to UGA usually end up a Dawg.

There are exceptions like the tight end this year, but UGA also picked up a an OL that had verbally committed to Clemson. We won one we lost one. Not a big deal.

Wait, you would have put a hurtin’ on LSU in the SEC Championship? Problem is, LSU made it and you didn’t because you got beat down badly by Tennessee. So shut up with all of your talk about being snubbed for the MNC. LSU won your conference. You got killed by Tennessee and lost to a team that didn’t even go to a bowl game. LSU lost its two games in TRIPLE OT. They were much more deserving. Me and ten friends could have beaten Hawaii.

I very much doubt that the UGA coaches would refuse to contact any Junior that had said he was going someplace else, if they thought there was some possibility. LSU can judge if they want to allocate time and energy on him. Plus, its hard to hold a kid to some standard given the newness of this early commitments. Personally, I dont think a high school kids owes UGA a thing until it starts buying him textbook and cheeseburgers. Colleges recruit for thier own good, and everyone has thier own interests at stake in this process.

Hold on gtg821x, UGA played terribly in those two games early in the schedule absolutely, but did LSU not lose at home to Arkansas and to Kentucky as well. Two huge powerhouses. Arkansas at home with the national title for the taking? Also, If I’m not mistaken, doesn’t a triple ot loss count the same in the books as a normal loss in regualtion? I guess I haven’t seen the triple-ot loss column in the media guides before. Thankfully for UGA, we don’t have you and your 10 friends on the schedule next year and only LSU

Well, if you can recall, Kentucky was playing very well at the time of the LSU game. And the Arkansas game is always close because they have developed a nice little rivalry. Fact is, LSU did what they had to do to get to the National Championship and UGA did not. Also, I have heard from every UGA homer I know that they were playing well at the end of the year. When selecting teams for the MNC, the entire body of work is considered, not just your last few games. And next year’s game should be great so long as RP is under center for the Tigers, otherwise I would consider yall an early favorite.

First off, Dexter Moody is a linebacker, not a defensive end. The kid is 6-2, 205.
Secondly, he’s great friends with Washaun Ealey, a RB who is also committed to UGA.
Third, they are/were both huge UGA fans growing up. Why would you go somewhere else when your dream school has offered you a free ride to play the sport you love most? Anyone? Hell, I would take a trip to Baton Rouge if LSU were paying for it, wouldn’t you? This doesn’t mean he’s swaying in his UGA commitment. The kid just wants a free trip. Nothing wrong with that. This whole article is just another lame excuse by the AJC to try to get some sort of recruting credibility, something they will NEVER have.

i’m sick of all these people saying “georgia lost to south carolina who didn’t even make a bowl game.” people don’t remember that carolina was 6-1 at one point in the season then the team took a nosedive. i mean does that really matter that they ended up having a losing record, while the same team that beat georgia was blown out by alabama? all of the “winning connections” are so pointless especially in the SEC.

At this point I would agree with blogger Buddy and pull an offer from a committment. CMR up till now will blindly honor an offer he extends yet the player will make visits, consider other schools, ect AFTER giving a verbal commitment to UGA. I would be interested to see the reaction of a committment or two - PERHAPS other committments would stand firm knowing the door at the Dawghouse would be shut on them. I am still sore from the punk Dwight Allen who “committed” to UGA TWICE!!! and then whined his way to Clemson. Not mad at the punk for changing his mind it is just that GA honored their word and when he did his switch-a baby whine-aroo it was too late for GA to get another signee such as O. Hunter or Zebrie Sanders. If Richt has pulled the offer at early sign of trouble we would have been able to offer another top player.

There is nothing like Death Valley. There is nothing like LSU football in its current state of affairs. 2 national championships in the past 5 years. When was the last time GA won a national championship?? early 80’s I think.. GA has lots of talent this year but will not make it through LSU and Florida without a loss. Honestly I just want the SEC to tear up anyone in the NC game. Oh went to school in Atlanta and it sucks a very transient town. Lived in NOLA for med school yes it is dirty but it was great (food, music, culture, architecture). Best looking girls are in the Texas then the rest of the south!

Some of you have this commitment wront. When the kid commits the other schools need to respect that and leave him alone. Unless they want to act like a jilted lover and really screw up already built relationships. Do you really think the kid that chose GA, then CU, GA,then finally Clemson really is a stable recruit? The colleges have are responsibility also. I cannot remember hearing of UGA going after one that has already been signed. If they changed their mind the did it themselves.

Bottom line:

LSU was 5-0 against TOP 15 teams by final rankings. Georgia, USC, etc……go take a look….not even close to that outcome.

And to the UGA argument that South Carolina “was 6-1” at one point….the loss was to LSU. UGA’s passing game was not good enough to beat LSU and as with Chris “Beany” Wells, Moreno could not have beaten us by himself. In spite of losing many key Seniors, LSU will house UGA in BR this year. Book it.

“No, he will not visit LSU or any other school, he is solid to Georgia,” said Emanuel County Institute Head Coach Milan Turner.

“He is not going anywhere other than to Georgia. He and my other guys (UGA commitment WaShaun Ealey and GT commitment J.C. Lanier) get harassed all the time and they get asked a lot of questions.”

“I give Dexter, WaShaun, and those guys stacks of mail every day from big time schools, and they just throw it in the trash,” he said.

“They will look through them for a second to see who they are from and without opening them, they throw them away right there at my desk.”

And going back to those reports about Moody visiting LSU later this summer, he shared his thoughts on that.

“That is just hocus pocus.”

By To UGA fans bashing bama

I don’t know why the Bama fan is on here talking about how this guy should go to Bama when Bama isn’t recruiting him. Anyways he is completely wrong about Bama usually being a top 10 team…Im an Auburn fan and I can’t believe Im backing him, but Bama does have 12 national championships…Ugay…2 maybe? Really only 1. The 12 is B.S. though…really only 3…by Bama logic, Auburn has 8 national championships…honestly only have 1. But yeah…when y’all win 12…trash Bama.

On another note, committing this early is only verbal and never solid. Auburn lost a 5 star running back (supposed to be next McFadden to Ole p** for playing time reasons) and two other 4 stars just before signing day. Teenage minds are always changing and stuff happens. Don’t take any commit this early seriously
