M.L. King’s Jones to accept JUCO offer
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

All-state running back Cordelerro Jones of M.L. King will sign with a junior college early next week, his coach said Thursday.
MLK coach Corey Jarvis said Jones was considering Butler and Coffyville community colleges in Kansas and College of the Desert in California.
Jarvis said no Division 1 school school was placing him there, so Jones would be wide open to recruitment in two years and probably wind up at a mid-major 1-A or 1-AA school.
“Personally, I think he’s not going to be a running back,’’ Jarvis said. “He doesn’t want to hear that, but he was a pretty good defensive back my first year here, and I think that’s where he’ll wind up.’’
Jones, 5-8, 180 pounds, rushed for 1,384 yards, second-most in DeKalb County, and was named first-team all-state in Class AAAAA by The Journal-Constitution and the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
