UNC-bound Harris ready for next step

North Carolina signee Kenneth Harris will play outside linebacker for the Tar Heels, at least three fewer positions than what he played at Columbia High School.

He played cornerback, safety, linebacker and tight end for coach Kevin Latham.

They’re not that different, however, in Harris’s eyes, especially when it comes to filling the holes.

“I like filling the holes,” he said.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder committed to North Carolina on Sunday, choosing the Tar Heels over Navy, Colgate, Southern and Charleston Southern.

He says even Georgia expressed some interest.

Harris and teammate Antonio Wilson (Georgia Tech) were the first Division I signees in Latham’s four years at the DeKalb County school.
