Tennessee signs TE Douglas

The Knoxville News-Sentinel is reporting that Aaron Douglas, Tennessee’s first verbal commitment of the 2008 class, has signed.

Douglas, from nearby Maryville, was so sure he wanted to be a Volunteer that he committed to Tennessee in July of 2006.

A 6-7, 250-pound tight end is listed as the New Sentinel’s top prospect in Tennessee. He had a number of injuries during his senior season but still caught 44 passes for 740 yards.

You could say that Douglas was born to be a Volunteer. His father was an offensive tackle for Tennessee and his mother played on the Lady Vols’ basketball team.
