Tennessee gets Williams, Raines

Sometimes it takes patience to put together a good recruiting class. On Wednesday Tennessee signed a couple of players who took a winding road to Knoxville.

Stephan Raines from Dalton originally signed with Tennessee in 2006 but had to attend Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College in order to become eligible. Raines (6-0, 175) is considered an athlete who could play receiver or defensive back.

According to the Knoxville News-Sentinenl, Gerald Williams (6-4, 225) first signed with Tennessee in 2005 when he played at Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. He attened a prep school and then went to city College of San Francisco. He could play linebacker or defensive end in college. He was a member of the AJC’s Super Southern 100 in 2005.
