Six signees for 2-8 Kell

Good academics helped Kell send six players to college football off a team that was only 2-8.

Linebacker Brian Rowen signed with Army, and Marcus McEvans is going to Air Force.

“Both have a 3.6 GPA, and both are interested in engineering, and that’s what drew them to the [service] academies,” said Kell assistant coach Richard Norman. “It was just all of our players working hard all year-around that stood out to recruiters.”

Also signing was quarterback Nick Hicks to Richmond. Hicks’ 1,868 yards passing led Cobb County.

Lineman Angelo Tabachino signed with Valdosta State. Lineman Stan Herring signed with Liberty. Tight end C.J. Kersey signed with Dean Junior College.
