Owens signs with Bulldogs

Georgia grabbed its second offensive lineman of national signing day as Jonathan Owens’ letter arrived.

Owens, 6-4, 294, from Susan Moore High in Blountsville, Ala., was named to the PrepStar All-Southeast Region and SuperPrep All-Dixie Team. He was a 2007 Alabama Sports Writers Association Class AAA first-team member.

According to his high school coach, Owens graded out at or above 90 percent in all 14 games in 2007. He allowed no sacks as a senior and has a max 345 pounds and a squat max of 420 pounds.
