Last of Hazard stars signs with Shorter

When Daniel Hazard signed with Shorter today, it signaled the end of a family dynasty at Sprayberry High in Marietta.

Hazard’s brothers — Joel, Aaron and Jordan — also were stars at Sprayberry who went on to college sports.

Joel was a four-year starter at wide receiver for Boston College. Aaron was a track sprinter at Rhode Island. Jordan is a receiver and star sprinter at Chattanooga.

Their father, Phil, played football and ran track at Boston College.

“They need to start making new sons,” Sprayberry coach Billy Shackelford said.
