‘I can’t believe Houston Nutt is going to be my head coach’

Buford wide receiver Melvin Harris signed with Ole Miss today, formally accepting what he called a dream offer.

Harris was not heavily recruited in the fall and appeared headed for Georgia Southern before the Rebels offered him a scholarship in mid-January. He raved about the school after a Jan. 19 visit and committed three days later.

“It’s great to be in the SEC,” Harris said. “I can’t believe Houston Nutt is going to be my head coach. Me and him have a great bond.”

At 6-foot-7 and 175 pounds, Harris had eight touchdown catches this year in an offense that relied heavily on its running attack.

Yeah, he’d better add some weight for all those blocking assignments if he’s going to Ole Miss.
