Florida, Alabama, Florida State waiting on Foley

Florida is expected to sign two big-time receivers today in Frankie Hammonds of Hallandale, Fla., and Carl Moore, a junior college transfer from California. But the Gators could hit the jackpot today if Julio Jones of Foley, Ala., decides to go to Gainesville.

It won’t be easy for the Gators to land Jones, who also has Oklahoma and Texas Tech on his list. Alabama has put its best recruiter, former Georgia Tech assistant Lance Thompson, on him. Jimbo Fisher, Florida State’s offensive coordinator and head coach in waiting, is also courting Jones.

According to rivals.com, Jones is expected to make his announcement at 12:30 p.m. Stay tuned.

Julio Jones canceled his visit to Texas Tech to drive four hours to Tuscaloosa to attend a Bama basketball game with Bama commitments. I’d guess he’s going to Bama.
