Dowtin, Pugh sign with UGA

Two more signed letters of intent arrived at Georgia shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Marcus Dowtin, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker from Fork Union, Va., made it official. Dowtin was a member of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super Southern 100. In 2007, he had 76 tackles, nine for loss, three fumble recoveries, two sacks and one interception. He rushed for 1,202 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns on 121 carries (9.9 yards per carry).

Makiri Pugh, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Independence High in Charlotte, also signed. Pugh only played in six games of a possible 15 because of injuries. As a safety, he had 36 tackles in six games. He had four tackles and an interception in the Offense-Defense All-American game.
