Buford’s Hunter signs with Gators

This time, Omar Hunter stuck with his decision.

The Buford defensive tackle signed with Florida this morning, just over a month after de-committing from Notre Dame.

One of the top-rated prospects in the country at his position, Hunter committed to the Gators on Jan. 22. He had flirted briefly with Georgia, but the Dogs didn’t have a scholarship for him.

Wearing a blue striped tie and a Florida hat, Hunter said at a school signing ceremony today that he was thrilled to be a Gator.

“It feels great,” Hunter said. “Now I can get to work and focus on what I need to do to play at Florida. I’m glad to have it over with.”

Ga not having a scholarship for him might speak volumes. Our recuiters have been on the money thus far over the years. They might know something about him going forward.

I doubt he’ll be “loosing” too much on Saturdays. When’s the last time UGA won a championship again?

To UGA Fan,

Get a life. He’s a young man. He made a decision right or wrong he will live with it but you need a life!

Poor kid’s parents must feel like they just invested their life savings in Enron stock.

They were hoodwinked by Urban Meyer and then Mattison is gone. So much for “Florida is a family”. Two other family members bolted as well.

Meyer is Karma’s B*tch.

I wish people would not talk down about this young man, he is a great kid and went where he needed to go… stay off his back

Congrats, Omar. UF will be a great university for you to attend. Sorry UGA didn’t have a spot for you. It would have been nice for Dwayne Allen to let us know prior to signing day what his intentions were and maybe your folks could have only had a 45 min drive to see you play. UF needs DTs and you may be starting next year. Best of luck in with your college education.

Man I would have loved to have seen him between the hedges on Saturdays! I hope he has a great career at UF. Clemson over UGA, Dwayne Allen? How many NFL tightends played at Clemson compared to UGA?

Meyer lied to him about Mattison’s possible plans. Meyer lied to Snead about Tebow too. This kid has been tooled by a pathological liar who makes Bill Clinton look honest. You can’t blame a kid like this when he’s used by a piece of crap like Meyer. He looks like a good kid with a lot of upside - not just in football, but what’s important in life. I hope he survives Meyer and has the opportunity to learn from people with integrity.
