Bryant ‘fell in love’ with LSU

Derrick Bryant, a 6-foot, 190-pounder who starred on both sides of the ball, was one of six Peachtree Ridge Lions who signed during an 8 a.m. ceremony at the school.

LSU “is a place where I can mature as a person and a football player,” Bryant said afterward. “Ever since my first unofficial visit, I felt a connection. I felt it was the best fit for me. I just fell in love with it.”

Bryant made 70 tackles and three interceptions at safety last season.

At wideout, he caught 42 balls for 660 yards and four touchdowns, earning first-team all-county honors.

“Right now they want me as a corner, but I may develop into a safety,” Bryant said, adding that he’d love to play offense, too.
