‘Bama score big, real big: WR Julio Jones

The Tide is rolling big time, landing the top-rated wide receiver inthe country, Julio Jones. Jones was rated as the top receiver by both Scout.com and Rivals.com.

He is one of the top in-state recruits in Alabama history and was ranked by Rivals.com as the fourth best player overall in the country. Jones’ signing likely will boost Alabama to the top spot as the nation’s best recruiting class this year.

At a press conference at his high school, Jones said he was going “where I was most comfortable.” He then picked up an Alabama hat and put it on as the place erupted into cheers.

Bama has been the front runner for Jones for a LONG time. He will be an impact player and fun to watch over the next 3-5 years. As a UGA fan I can’t wait to see how he and A.J. Green progress. It will be fun to see this talent competing against each other in the coming years.

It is wonderful to get Julio, but Bama needs a qb to get him the football. May be Star Jackson will be the qb I hope!! How does it feel cow college to get your bottom beat today!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

So now I really do think that there wont be a rivalry with the vols anymore after we get a few more top recruiting classes just like this one coming in, the vols wont stand a chance against bama once we start killing them and soon auburn will be in the six year loosing streak. the real rivalry to look out for in the next few years will be between Bama and UGA….ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Julios name pronounced (Hoo-li-O) with a silent J or (Ju-li-O) with a hard J? Either way he doesn’t look Mexican, why does he have a Mexican name? Thinking out loud. Does he play soccer or like to hit pinatas?

Tucker99:

Which “cow college” are you referring to? Tennessee? Florida? Georgia? LSU? Clemson? Penn State? Ohio State? Kentucky? Cornell?

They’re all land-grant schools, involved in agriculture education and research.

Something tells me you’re not familiar with that concept.

Hey guys, Don’t make fun of Julio. He is definitely the “Real Deal”. I am a die hard Dawg fan but, I live in Foley, Al. and have watched Julio, and no he’s not Mexican, develope. He is far and away one heck of a football player. Also excellent at Track and Basketball! By the way his name is pronoucned who-le-o!!!!!! There are two main differences between Julio and A.J. Green that is coming to Ga. 1. Julio is MUCH bigger and more powerful. A.J. has to put some meat on his bones and get tough. 2. At Alabama Julio has no one to get him the ball right now. John Parker (sounds like he belongs on the “Waltons” with John Boy) is not a quarterback, especially compare to Stafford. It will be great to see if they both play this year and to see them match up in games. I wish Julio the best except on game day against the “Dawgs”. You must get physical with him and knock him off his routes quick. Go Dawgs.
