Alabama’s Smelley going in as a QB

New recruit quarterback Brad Smelley signed with the University of Alabama on Wednesday morning, and told Tidesports.com that the coaches want him to start at quarterback.

“They want me to go in as a quarterback,” Smelley said. “They saw my senior film. I am going to learn the offense. I could always move to another position if I need to.”

Smelley, who could also play wide receiver, threw for 3,022 yards and 33 touchdowns as a senior.

Hey, is this Smelley kid (no pun intended) any relation to the Smelley quarterback (again, no pun) that played for the “evil genius” at South Carolina? Furthermore, how in the world did Barak Obama get the Univ. of Alabama to support him? All I heard this past football season was go BAMA roll tide. Hey Tide fans, look out for the Big Orange this season.
