Alabama closes out a No. 1 class

Alabama put the cap on what may the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class when linebacker Jerrell Harris of Gasden signed with the Crimson Tide.

According to the Birmingham News, Harris made the announcement at a press conference at his high school. He looked down from the podium at five baseball caps that represented his final choices: Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Southern Cal, and Clemson.

After telling the crowd that he would not wear any of the caps, he pulled out a Houndstooth hat (the favorite of Bear Bryant), put it on his head, and announced he would be going to Alabama.

Alabama now has 32 players who signed letters of intent on Wednesday. The NCAA allows only 25 grants to be given in any one year, but schools oversign in anticipation that not all of the players will qualify academically.

As of 3:30 p.m., Alabama’s recruiting class was ranked No. 1 by both Rivals.com and Scout.com.

I love it. A year ago Alabama got Saban and went 6-6 in the regular season. Tennessee and Notre Dame were at the top of the recruiting class and finished less than great to say the least. Bama sucks and will continue to suck. Can’t wait for a number 7 for Auburn.

By the truth, do you think one recruiting class equals success the very next year?!? ND and UT didn’t have the top ranked classes last year, though they might’ve been high. I’m not a ‘Bama fan but you sound like an Auburn fan a little bitter/worried over Alabama’s recruiting success, and maybe you should be if Saban keeps recruiting like this.

the truth- All real original stuff there. Everything you said I chuckled at…twenty years ago when I first heard them all. You are a cow college not because you are in the state of Alabama, but because you were founded as and are still considered the agricultural school of State of Alabama. (Alabama Polytechnic ring any bells?) And come to think of it, when I was a student and came to Au-barn to party a few times I was amazed that most students lived, not in apartments, but trailers! And you call us trailer-trash??? Why would you even post if you weren’t afraid that Bama is going to wipe the floor with Auburn over the next several years? You are a pretty transparent fellow.

It’s funny now that I’ve heard for six years now that bammer is going to beat auburn. you guys can’t get over losing bear. get over it. and, by the way, all those national title games you guys claim to have won (12) is also false. auburn might as well claim 13 having gone undefeated 11 times and having 2 one lose seasons.

notice that only 4 have AP beside them.

What gives - Bama signs 32 recruits but the NCAA only allows 25 in any given year. That tells me that the Tide goes after the borderline academic types who can only count as high as the fingers on one hand (all six of them). What happens if more than 25 do qulify? Does an athelete get told “sorry but we are withdrawing you scholarship”?

To the idiot redneck cow fan you can take your stats and stick up your cow a**. The cow college has won 1 national title and was on probation when they won it. So your stats don’t meet crap!! So go get in bed with your sister and go make a few more idiot cow fans!!

I’m sorry, but if my son were considering colleges for his football career, I would be really hesitant to let him play for Saban. He appears rather sleazy, and who knows where he’ll be tomorrow. It appears he promises more than he can deliver, and he’s not the only one!!!

MR. By the Truth,

Maybe you should go look up some stats before you look so ignorant,ie.. maybe like when the AP started.

Female with a question-
