Uzzi joins Army All-American lineup
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 01/03/08
Add Chamblee two-way lineman Omoregie Uzzi to the list of Georgia prospects participating in this weekend’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl high school game in San Antonio.
Uzzi was added to the roster earlier this week after another player pulled out of the game due to injury, according to Chamblee head coach Jim Showfety.
“He’s there [in San Antonio], and he’s really excited about participating,” Showfety said.
Uzzi (6-foot-4, 305 pounds), an AJC Super Southern 100 pick at offensive tackle, also played on the defensive front for Chamblee. He spearheaded the Bulldogs’ potent wing-T rushing attack, which averaged close to 300 yards per game and propelled Chamblee to a 12-2 record and to the Class AAA semifinals. He is being recruited by a number of schools, but has not made a commitment.
Uzzi joins the East squad, which includes Jefferson County offensive lineman A.J. Harmon (who has committed to Clemson), Norcross receiver Brice Butler (Southern Cal), and Statesboro defensive lineman DeAngelo Tyson (Georgia).
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl will feature some of the nation’s top players from the class of 2008, and will be televised Saturday at 1 p.m. on NBC.

Congrats to the 4 Georgia players names to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. For you that constantly want to put GA high school football in the same class with Texas here is more proof you can’t; Texas placed 18 players in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. GA high school football first has to catch-up with states like FL, CA, LA, OK, PA and OH before they can even think about being mentioned in the same sentence with Texas. No brag, just fact.

To TxvsGA you are only half right-FL,TX,CA. LA is a maby but OH and PA. It is amazing how yall not of SOUTHEASTERN confrance buy all that ESPN is selling you.Get your head out of the sand, do some studying before you say silly things. If you would look at the rosters of AUB, SC,CLEM,GA- SO,and all teams in the region besides GA and GA-TECH you could truely appreciate the talent in the state. THe university of GA has sent more players to the NFL than 90% of the states you named over the last 7 years. How dose GA finish in the top 10 in recruiting every year while being surounded by power house teams on every front recruiting for GA players.(FLA,TENN,ALA,AUB,LSU,FLA ST,MIA. ALL OF THESE TEAMS HAVE BLUE CHIP PLAYERS from the state. It’s amazing what playing in a second class confrance will due to a persons beliefs. UGA will play someone for the NCG next year,if TEX is lucky yall will get to see a real team in person, then you can try and figure out why TEX cant beat GA with access to sooomany quality players at their desposal. DAWGS RULE you know it, the BCS knows it, Pete Carrol knows it,every real football fan knows it.GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODAAAWWWGS.
