Florida set to offer Mays’ Smith?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 01/03/08
Mays defensive end Bernard Smith says his top three college choices are Florida, Western Kentucky and Virginia Tech.
Smith has visits lined up to Florida (Jan. 11) and Western Kentucky (Jan. 18).
He has a scholarship offer from Western Kentucky. Other schools are waiting to offer until his ACT scores arrive next week.
“The day before I leave for Florida, I’ll know if they are going to offer,” Smith said. “Everybody is waiting on my ACT scores, including Auburn, Clemson and Kentucky.”
If the Gators offer, Smith said it’s not a sure thing that he will commit to last year’s national champion.
“If they offer, I’ll still take all my visits and see what’s my best option,” he said. “Just because a school has a great team doesn’t mean it’s a great school.
“I want to go there and take in a basketball game so I can see what the fan support is like. You get to mingle with some of the students and I’ll ask questions.
“I’ll be paying attention to the students to see what they think of the school. I already know the coaches are going to hit me with their best selling lines.”
Florida and Virginia Tech are recruiting Smith at defensive end. Western Kentucky likes Smith at outside linebacker.

UT coaches telling a kid he gets input on his redshirt decision. How funny. The funniest thing is the kid believes it. Kind of like when Urban Meyer lied to Jevan Snead and told him, dont worry, we are only recruiting Tim Tebow as a linebacker. UM is the biggest liar to ever hit college football, and that is saying something. Heard about the lie he is telling Omar Hunter now? Wise up kids, dont believe this BS that he is spewing.

Hey kendall, do the numbers 86-47 mean anything to you. That’s the total points of the Tennessee -Georgia games the last two years—and guess who won them both. Shut up and play football and quite worrying about a national championship that you haven’t smelled in thirty years.

You bedwetting whiners who think you say Woof woof just wait to next year. Tennessee is already sharpening their shovels to bury you. Tennessee has something you will never have and that is CLASS. Noshaun, Goshaun will probably get his knee tore up early. Other teams will key on him next year as he will not be a surprise as he was this year.

Alabamadawd, I didn’t wish Noshaun would tear his knee up! I said he probably will tear it up. What I call CLASS is the Kansas game where with just seconds to go and Kansas was on the one yard line, the Kansas QB fell on the ball rather than run up the score. Now, that’s class!!!!
On the other hand, in a similar situation, ahead by 32 points, UGA QB was passing to add more points. NO CLASS!
It’s pri**s like you that make me hate Georgia. I doubt you have ever been to a game much less even know where Athens is.
I see fat warthogs driving around town with Ga. flags on their cars that I know the closest they have ever been to Ga. football team is when they swill down a few beers with them in some beside the road dive.
Every year I hear about some stud Ga. has signed and that’s the last I ever hear from him. Seems like he is too stupid to get into school or gets arrested trying to hold up a Dairy Queen.
By the Way, I am not a Tennessee fan.

I will go along with the reply made by P Dawg.it is fans like you that give all the other UT fans a bad name.It was said during the Sugar Bowl game that UGA has put more players in the NFL than any other SEC School.I also can see how you got your name, from waiting to see if Fulmer gets fired or not each year.Be truthful W & S and ask yourself who’s future is Brighter over the next 5 years U of T or UGA. Nobody is talking about U Of T winning anything in the near future.

“wait and see”- Cox (our back-up QB by the way) didn’t take a knee as there was still about 10 minutes left in the game. CMR could’ve taken the sure points, but instead gave Hawaii (with its starters still in) a chance to make a play against our 2nd-3rd string. And how convenient that you omitted mentioning Blake Barnes (our 3rd string QB) taking a knee every down at the end of game…just like Kansas. And the fact that it was Barnes in the game at the end even though he is transferring just validates that CMR is all about class.

“wait & see” — UGA never runs up the score like UF or UT, Blake Barnes (3rd string QB) and Joe Cox (2nd string QB) were in the game when that pass was thrown - dikw**d - yes we have some stupid fans like you at UGA unfortunately - I pretty much bet that CMR told Off. Cord. Mike Bobo to never do that again while UF will run up the “style points” whenever it can… But, as Lou Holtz once stated when he was a young coach and the other team ran up the score on him… “I asked the opposing coach why he ran up the score and he said…Son, it is not my job to keep my team from scoring…!!! bite on that “wait and see”

Get a good look at fat Phil Vol fans because 2008 will be his last year. He won’t have buttcliff to to right his ship or trooper to motivate his players. Tn beat up a freshman o-line that had played 5 games. Last year joe t was the qb. None of that will be the case next year but you idiots can keep hoping. losmack, volman002 and wait and see have all witnessed what this team has done the last six games and they know what’s coming. The Dawgs will dominate the south in recruiting this year. UGA’s getting all the studs, leaving Tenn, Florida and Auburn in the dust. In the next few years, UGA will be winning national titles routinely. Only Southern Cal has a chance to beat UGA next year. The Dawgs have arrived, in force.

Hey “lojak”, “volman002” and “wait and see”,
While I certainly would have preferred to beat UT (kudos to UT), I find it better to win the war than the battle. Turn on ESPN and/or ESPN radio. Who are they talking about as one of the best teams in the country? UGA, USC, LSU, OSU? I haven’t heard any mention of UT. Did you enjoy the Outback Bowl?
Fulmer does in fact have a trend going against the Dawgs - as long as Cutcliff is his “o” coordinator. Didn’t Cutcliff just leave for greener pastures - at Duke? The last time he left, UT was firing blanks on offense and against the Dawgs. Tell “fat Phil” good luck without Cutcliff.
Class? I would put coach Richt up against anybody in this category. There was a slight difference in what Kansas did and what UGA was doing. The Kansas QB took a new with just a few seconds remaining. UGA allowed it’s back up QB to throw with about 12 minutes to go in the game. Slightly different scenario. Were they suppose to take a knee with that much time left. The backups put in their time on the practice field. They deserve a chance to play also. Seems like I remember UGA delivering a smack down on UT a few years ago in Knoxville and they started taking a knee with a couple of minutes to go. Class?
And speaking of fat bellies…have you ever been to a UT game? 100,000, overall wearing, hill bille, NASCAR fans.
Get a life!!

that’s right dawgs, wait and see did not say what team he rooted for, these bashers rarely do.most are like wait and see and have never played college football and know very little about the subject.the back-up qb wanted a td in the sugar bowl,so sue him!if i were in the same situation, with stafford entrenched at the top and logan gray waiting in the wings i would have gone for it too.uga has many good athletes and the competition, especially for second on the depth chart is fierce.i don’t remember if it was cox or barnes that threw the passes, but cox will be fighting for his job and barnes is transfering to div 2,or whatever it’s called now.both of these guys have coaches they want to impress and this was their best chance to get their attention.i wanted them to give the ball to lump and let him score a td in his last game at uga.lump missed almost all of his senior year due to injuries and deserved a td.if that is running up the score, then so be it.btw,if moreno has a knee injury caleb king will be splitting time with him and may be a better tb than knowshon.

UGA fans you did not even win your division…UT did….they spanked you guys for a second year in a row on the field…not on this message board! You have absolutly Zero bragging rights over UT! By the way the team that had you down 28-0 in the second quarter returns 17 starters plus another one that started and but was not egilible this year…I think that will make 3 in a row and 4 out of 5 against uga!! We own you and the east division

Based on these moronic ut fans(fred dog) I suppose the National Championship game is really between Illinois and Arkansas because they beat OSU and LSU. Does’nt matter what their ranking is those teams are better because they beat them straight up.There is a reason that even though ut beat uga they never passed them in the rankings all year(see AL/UT, Cal/UT, FL/UT). Your defense sucks, you can’t run the ball and you basically played two decent games all year against UGA and Arkansas and that makes you the beast of the east. What exactly has UT won since 1998? Ga has 2 sec titles and 2 sugarbowl titles. UGA is shaking in their shoes about your 15 returning starters not 17. This decade UGA is 5-3 against ut so stick with Kentucky and Vandy when talking about domination even if your barely winning those games now.

I dont get it. You Ga. fans are idiots. Phil Fulmer owns the Bulldogs. Check out the record. Tennessee is a top 10 all time winning football program. I believe we beat Ga. about 8 times in a row in the 90’s. So what if you are a mediocre 5-3 since 2000. Big deal. It has been a long time since Herschel’s freshman year. You clowns choked in the Sugar bowl his sophmore year I believe it was. Todd Blacklege picked you apart if I am not mistaken. You really don’t have anything to brag on. Tennessee has 4 national championships. We stomped a mudhole in you just a few months ago. Spin that! Even your mascot UGA sucks. You actually have to bring ice for that mutt to lay on. You copied Tennessee when you went and got a dog for a mascot. Smokey has been around a lot longer than UGA. Go VOLS!
