Bryce Ros woke up Sunday a changed man.
All the indecision he had dealt with in recruiting was gone. All the questions were answered. Ros, a tight end from Kennesaw Mountain High, had made up his mind he was going to play college football at Georgia.
“I thought to myself, ‘What am I waiting for?’ ” Ros said. “So I committed.”
And just the perfect day to do it, too. Ros is the son of Frank Ros, the captain of the 1980 Georgia national championship team. On top of that, Sunday just happened to be Father’s Day, so you would think Bryce’s decision would be the perfect present for his father.
“Actually, I told my mom first,” Ros said. “I was just kind of messing with my dad.”
Ros is the 15th commitment for Georgia. He had been recruited by several SEC and ACC schools. Ros is projected to play tight end, but he has played defensive end in high school and could move to that position as well.
Georgia could receive its 16th commitment at the end of the week. Ben Jones, an offensive lineman from Bibb County, Ala., was offered over the weekend. Jones, whose father also went to Georgia and said the Bulldogs are a leader, will make a decision by as early as Friday.

I have no clue how lil’ Ros is, but I sometimes go back and watch 25 years of Georgia Football (the Dooley tribute video) and daddy Ros is a damn good dog… so - works for me!

To Tech guy, you did offer him. He showed no interest. He is a state weightlifting champion. He is a honor student. 6’4 230 and runs a true 4.6. A Tech guy complaining about a guy not being highly recruited; what an irony. This kid is special. I still amazed at the reaction many fans have during the recruiting season. You are talking about 17 and 18 year old kids. Try talking to one and you will find that they change their mind every 10 minutes.

who cares….college football blows anyways! How pointless would everything feel if before u started your league u knew u had NO shot at a championship even if u went undefeated?? College Football Blows : You’re a real work of art. lol UGA’s stadium holds about 93,000 people; Turner field holds about 47,000. Hawks?? They can’t even sell out Phillips Arena. And if you did a comparison you’d probably find that UGA sells MORE tickets annually than Mr.Blank does. Last but not least, when you first log onto the ajc, click ‘Sports’ with your mouse; then click ‘Hawks’ or ‘Braves’. That way you won’t waist your time on the ‘UGA’ page. Just trying to help since CFB sucks so bad that you log on here anyway because you’re such a loser that you have nothing else better to do but read about things that’ blow’.

Allowing a pot dealer who recieves 100 pounds of dope to continue playing (and starting no less) college football games after he is caught by the DEA, or
Playing 12 academically ineligible athletes to play on the college football team over a 7 year period?
The only Division 1A school I know of in this state that is on NCAA probation is Georgia Tech.

Valdosta St.? Really? I watched that crap on ESPN2. It is like slow motion. You play against Mississippi School for the Blind and Alabama School for the Deaf. Get off of here with that. I went to GA Southern and am now at UGA. I would never compare GA Southern football on this blog and they were a dynasty. Don’t give me that Winnersville crap. Go away.

UGA has committed major infractions or been on probation 20 of the past 30 years. But some how UGA fans forget that when talking about Ga. Tech and there probation. What’s funny is UGA will still be on probation two more years after Ga. Tech gets off there’s, but UGA fans forget to mention they’re currently on probation.

So, with Ross now comitted, and Ben Jones on the horizon, I’m wondering how many scholarships Georgia has left to offer??
We have 84 on Scholarship, that includes Knox and Cuff, with 18 seniors and if they all graduate that would give us 19 available, if Knox and Cuff wind up at Hargrave or other prep school then we would have 21 total scholarships available. So we are getting close to our limit for the 2008 class and that doesn’t include any Juniors that leave early or Seniors failing to graduate or other things. I hope this answers your question to your satisfaction?

I’m pretty sure two-time All-American David Pollack wasn’t highly rated either coming out of high school. Ros has high-intensity and a good motor (a la Pollack), which is something you can’t really put a rating on. I’m not comparing him to Davey, but there are a few similarities.

Hey folks, if you would all ignore the jealous, inane and vulgar comments by the “don’t have enough to do” crowd, then they would really be mad. Just think about it, you blast and demean the competition and no one comments. Don’t you think that would tend to make one feel left out. These blogs are nothing more than a ploy to sell newspapers. Remember when we did not have them, or the “vent” either? Journalism has continued to sink to great depths. In a few years, there will only be internet “reporters”. At least then, we might have some true reporters!

For all the ranting you did I would have thought you would have known that the NCAA does not recognize any I-A championship in Football, therefore you will not find them listed under any “championships won” category in the NCAA. Since there is a playoff system in D-II and D-III those are recognized (i.e. Georgia Southern has 6 I-AA Football championships).
Like you said, “You cant teach stupid people the obvious.”
