I don’t know if I like it if one of our recruits compares himself to Pac Man. Thank goodness this kid seems just a little more wholesome. I don’t expect him to be “makin it rain” any time soon.

Journalism or “business”; nice academic track. No way could he survive at GT; UGA is perfect for him.

So, TruthTeller, you know all about this kids academics? Are you an administrator at his school? He sounds intelligent to me, but hey, I only have a Masters from Georgia Tech.

The title of the link (as opposed to the title of the story) would lead one to believe that the journalistic endeavor would compare UGAY to GT. Or at the very least the reporter would ask the recruit why he chose UGAY. Did you even ask, Joe D’le’idiot ?
Or did you ask & not like the answer ? Was it because he didn’t even have a committable offer ? Today, the only DB recruits with committable offers are Wesley Neighbors & Xavier Avery.
But don’t let facts interfere with peddling your imbecilic products to the blithering barking morons.

I continue to be amazed at how GT fans attack UGA commitments. Could it be that they lack the commitments to pass judgement upon? The kid was offered by Duke and Vandy. Those two schools exceed Tech in the academic arena. Why are the GT fans so preoccupied with their majors? Your school is no better than any other school. If you had class, you wouldn’t be attacking kids. That may be a major reason these outstanding young people are avoiding your school. When you hear the GT fans bragging about their players, just remember the high character of Reuben Houston, Mike Mooney, and Reggie Ball. How many years has it been since GT defeated UGA in football? How many ineligible players did GT have playing for them during their “prime” years?

Wow 4:16 and truthteller, ya’ll seem to have everything figured out. I know it’s tough to take the butt whooping to a six year level, but when your inferior to the competition it’s gonna happen. Tech is a heck of a school and you have that, but you idiots do it no justice what so ever just thinking you can talk bad about another university that has your number in a few categories. The name calling is cute and all, but gets old when that’s all the ammunition you have. Ya’ll outta bow down to the better opponent, cause obviously Georgia has better facilities and offers something better than Tech can, and that’s why we get the better recruits. Keep talking the trash, but the real work is done on the field by the players and not you. Georgia isn’t exactly known for producing losers and bums in the work world either.

If we are going to focus on the truth, then we should consider the following: 1. Paul Oliver should be the number 1 pick in the draft next year because he owned Calvin Johnson. 2. The ACC TECH schools were no match for UGA.
3. The SEC rules the ACC in football. UF whips FSU, UGA whips VT and GT, USC whips Clem. 4. The master basketball conference is the SEC. Who is the defending champions? 5. Reggie Ball did not major in engineering. The engineering thing is just Bug propaganda. 6. The posting of ACT/SAT scores with GPA’s is more recruiting propaganda. It is illegal. That is just B.S. created by recruiting “gurus”.
7. The flagship school in state is UGA. Yes, GT you can call yourself the sinking row boat.

What else needs to be figured out ? The title of the link is “Why Boykin picked Ugay over Tech”. In order for Boykin to have decided for Ugay INSTEAD of Tech, he would have had to have a committable offer. Today, he doesn’t have one from Tech. End of story. But if it makes you feel better, just keep thinking he had one from Tech.

oDuke & Mississippi are the only schools to have offered him besides UGAY. Now go back to barking and drinking your Pabst.

Boykin and his 1350 on the SAT “couldn’t survive at GT,” but Reggie Ball and his 840 were able to last 4 years?
The Techies are embarassed they don’t have a single commitment from a top 30 player in the state for ‘08.
Attacking a high school kid … classy.

I can’t believe Tech fans would even think they would have beat us out for this kid if they did offer. Boykin is projected as a 4 star recruit. He likes Georgia and has decided to become a Dawg. Tech fans are on here whining because we are off to a fast start. Right now, we have 2 definite 5 stars and 2 more that are in the consideration. Stop whining and trash talking because your team can’t back it up. Enjoy your beatdowns this year without Calvin Johnson. Mediocrity will always be a part of Tech.

I am back and glad to see all you losers still have no lives and insult each other about this junk. Get a girlfriend or maybe some better lotion and spend some quality time doing something else. Georgia has a great program….so what. Is it going to get those British sailors out of Iran?….NO! Tech is also a fine program….is it going to protect one of our boys from a IED in Iraq today?…..No! Grow up you, you, you, I was going to say queers, but you are all insults to gay people and they don’t want you in their group either. Let the boys play and be positive about your program. Nobody likes a bunch of HATERS. Say a prayer for our real stars overseas.

When will both of you figure it out! You BOTH are two ‘lesser’ programs and will never be ‘annually Top 10’ material!
Tech, you’ll disappear after the opener at Notre Dame. Mutt fans, you’ll keep sporting your jean-shorts until we beat them off of you in Jacksonville once again.
Until then, keep it up, I’m loving every minute of it!

I have read the article three times and can not find where the question is addressed nor answered! Is this article written by a former Georgia student who flunked out and never learned anything about journalism?

Gator Steve- your insults are funny. Last time I checked the Gaytor fans were the ones that sported the jean shorts and mullets rocking out in the camero’s to motley crue.
Tech fans- I can clearly see why you would be so frustrated. After six years in a row of being the socially retarded little sister to the University of Georgia I would be upset to. But I will say this is comedy gold. Seeing a Tech fan telling Georgia fans to get a girl friend. That is truly funny.
As far as the post reads I tend to agree with 4:16.If Tech did not offer then he clearly did not chose UGA over Tech. They probably realized he had very little interest in going to the JOKE by Coke so they did not offer. But to say a kid who recieved offers from DUKE and VANDY would not make it at TECH. Are you serious? Duke makes Tech look like Gwinnett Tech. Vandy makes Tech look like Lanier Tech. Georgia Tech is only as great as the Georgia Tech student body makes it. Outside of that Tech is not that great. There are probably 5 other schools in the South East that are better. You guys make Tech look like Harvard. They only thing close to looking like Harvard is your football team. But hey, you guys stay classy over at the TRADE SCHOOL on North Avenue. UGA will continue getting the great recruits out of the state of GEORGIA while Tech continues being our little B***. To the guy talking about the war and English soldiers in Iran. I pray for our people in harms way everyday but it is the AJC spots blog.

gtland — Nice try, but Boykin’s score is on the old 1600 point scale.
I understand that GT has really high academic requirements for their football recruits. After all, Reggie Ball got in with an 840.
Secondly, what is a Florida fan doing wandering to the AJC blog? Don’t they have an Elite 8 game today to focus on?

All this talk about the SAT……..hmmmmm…….
Well I just took it. And WAIT A MOMENT! I’m a Junior. Is Boykin a junior!? YES! And a 1300 is like taking the test blindfolded. I’m hoping atleast a 1800 on my first try. This is probaly his best score.
WITH THAT SAID I honestly don’t care if UGA gets a commit or not. Tech going to get their share. We prooved that last year. I WILL SAY though that UGA is going to have a top 5 class this year. I’m hoping tech is going to be around top 15. But with all honesty if uga get #4 class and tech gets #14 class who cares. Ten teams really don’t that much of a differnce.
Lastly I’ve been doing some research on recruiting and talked to some sources. Tech’s going to get some commits REAL soon. AND what is this talk about tech not having a top 30 player in the state? Chris Jackson? Yeah, im out.

The 1350 for Boykin is the score of his math and verbal (each section scaled at 200-800), as it has always been. That doesn’t include whatever his essay score was. Georgia Tech’s average SAT score for last fall was in the low 1300s, how is that possible under the SAT that’s been in effect since ‘05? It’s because no one cares about the Essay score.
Boykin’s score was in the 90th percentile.
Try again gtland.

Seriously what thrill do you all get over this? I really don’t see what the Tech fans have to feel good about. They fell apart the last half of their season last year, and then go and lose their only offensive weapon. From what I saw of Taylor Bennett, I wouldn’t be happy that he’s my team’s starting QB. He basically just chunked the ball into the air, and had Calvin go get it. Since they suck on the field, they like to hang their hats on academics. Big woop. Last time I checked, a team of Rhodes scholars has never won a game. All teams recruit stupid kids. It’s football, not an academic bowl.

I know you guys are still bitter because you sucked at everything prior to 1992 and you’re anxious to crow about anything and everything. And despite the fact that you’ve run off a nice string of wins verses Georgia, you’ve lost more than you’ve won, and you’re still less accomplished in every mode of measurement than UGA. Maybe it’s the fact that your football program has NEVER had undefeated season. Maybe it’s the fact that you have a whopping 7 SEC championships in 80 years of conference play. I don’t know, but it’s comic gold that you clowns have a basketball team looking to repeat, a football team that just won the MNC and you’re still on a UGA blog looking for justification from Georgia fans. It’s telling that 15 years of winning still hasn’t erased the taste of the 75 years of domination prior to it. At least for the 5% of your fanbase that aren’t yankee transplants.

Gator Steve, The best thing I can say about Florida is the 750 thousand dollars worth of real estate that I have bought down here. Im a GA. grad that has attended a few SEC games in Gainesville. Dont even try to accuse Dawg fans of wearing jean shorts. Your mullet wearing, gold chain and tank top wearing fans take the cake on wearing something decent to the big game. Techies, here you go again , its like groundhog day with the blogs. Ga signees couldnt make it in to Tech, You were going to blow us out in Athens, Stafford sux too right??? You predicted you would win the ACC. Calvin was going to get four or five touchdowns against GA too wasnt he? Reggie had emerged and matured as a leader with his much improved t.d. to int. ratio too, right??. Can Amelia Island Mike get an amen from my dawg nation??Techies Hide behind your computers with your ignorant criticism, pick on high school kids who are trying to do the right thing. Did you notice the recruit being bashed he didnt mention “THE LEAGUE”- he was talking about a career maybe in the journalism field. Georgia just happens to have an excellant journalism program. I tried to tell the Techies before the wheels came off last season to hold the smack talkin-that the game against GA was in Athens and it was senior day, and you hadnt exactly won that coveted acc title yet (in an awful year for the acc i.e. fsu, miami,} but you flapped and beat your wings only to let yourselves down in the worst way. Het Gator Steve Hats off to a great run in the last 20 years but get your facts straight. Ga has been in the top ten several times in the last ten years and of course won the SEC twice in the last five. Sure we would like to be more competitive against Fla, but our program has been pretty darn good through the Richt Era.

Who cares what his SAT score is?? This is not “academic bowl,” it’s football!! 92,000 people don’t pack a stadium six or seven times each year to see kids take a math test and nobody “packs” your little stadium to watch football unless UGA, Clemson or FSU is visiting that week. All you loser Tech fans do is talk about academics while we’ve crushed you for the better part of every decade since the advent of the facemask. Oh, and by the way, I have a degree from UGA and make well into six-figures annually. The academics at both schools are more than adequate to make graduates of both schools alot of money, which, last time I checked was the reason for getting an education in the first place!!

I am sure that Boykin is a fine young man. None of my posts were meant to denigrate him, only the AJC & the nincompoops that it caters to. At least Joe D’le`idiot (or perhaps some intern) finally changed the title of the link. At NO TIME has Boykin held an offer from GT. Thus, he could not have chosen UGAY over GT. Isn’t it wonderful to spend time thinking about Brandon? Yes, he is a wonderful kid. He is an excellent student and athlete. It is his choice where he gets his education and plays football. It is not everyday that you find a youngman who has been so successful in his “JUNIOR” year. How many of you who can say that you have accomplished the same? It is important to remember that before you say something negative about someone, would you want the same thing to be said about you? Brandon is in high school let him enjoy it!
To those of you who are enjoying your college life, and thinking negatively of Brandon I wish you well. To those who have positive comments MANY BLESSINGS. To all we will see You in the future.
