When the WNBA took a month off for the Olympics, Betty Lennox stole a move from a Super Bowl champion.

At 31, she went to Disney World.

“I was really pumped and excited to see Minnie and Mickey. Snow White. Aladdin. Goofy. All of them,” she said of her first trip to the Magic Kingdom.

The Dream’s season resumes tonight against Connecticut, but not before some players had a chance to savor their down time.

Lennox and family members visited the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios over a span of six days. Her favorite ride was the African safari adventure at Animal Kingdom, and she also enjoyed the 3-D “A Bug’s Life” show, “It’s Tough To Be A Bug!”

“I’m definitely not a 3-year-old, but I guarantee you I probably had just as much fun as a 3-year-old because it was my first time,” she said. “I still have a lot of kid in me.”

Lennox said she hopes to return next year and visit Cirque du Soleil and some of Disney’s water parks.

“I don’t know how to swim, but I want to see that,” she said.

While Lennox was in Florida, Iziane Castro-Marques stayed in Atlanta and resumed her dancing lessons. Castro-Marques has been taking dance lessons since the beginning of the season, but missed out during the two-week road trip in July. She took two classes a week with her personal instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio.

“I’m really good at the cha cha and the mambo,” she said as she started moving her feet. “I’m on the competition level now.”

She has also learned the foxtrot, samba, salsa, tango and waltz, though it’s her least favorite. She also brought along teammates, such as Ann Strother and Jennifer Lacy, to some of her sessions, which help her on the court.

“I hate to turn. If you see me on the court, I don’t do turns that much because I lose my center,” she said. “But I learned how to turn better.”

Katie Feenstra went home and finalized plans for her Nov. 8 wedding. The couple attended marriage counseling and Feenstra was finally able to try on her custom-made dress from California. The center, who stands 6-feet-8, said it took six months for her dress to arrive.

“I was very happy to try it on,” she said. “And it is long enough. I have to get it hemmed a little bit.”
