Tom Sherreard of Georgia State finished in a tie for 19th at the British Open last week at Royal Birkdale. Sherreard's performance was lost in the wake of fellow amateur Chris Wood, who tied for fifth.
Sherreard needed to shoot a 69 in the second round —- one of only 11 sub-70s scores that day —- just to make the cut. He closed with a 72 to finish 14 over, leaving him in a 13-way tie that included the likes of Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Trevor Immelman and Rocco Mediate.
