> Morton update: The rangy right-hander makes his seventh major league start and first against the Marlins. Morton's most recent win came July 12 when he limited the Padres to four hits and one run in 5 1/3 innings at San Diego. He had been 0-1 with a 12.38 ERA in his previous two starts. He's 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA in three road starts, giving up 14 hits and no home runs allowed in 16 1/3 road innings.
>VandenHurk update: The Netherlands native has been recalled from Class AA to replace veteran lefty Mark Hendrickson, who was 0-5 with an 8.93 ERA in his past nine starts and worked out of the bullpen Monday. It will be the third start of the season and 20th of his career for VandenHurk, who is 4-7 with a 7.12 ERA in 19 starts in the majors. He made two starts in April before missing six weeks with an ulnar nerve problem. Against the Braves, he's 1-0 with a 5.65 ERA in four games (three starts) against the Braves, all last season. Brian McCann is 3-for-6 with a homer against him, and Yunel Escobar is 2-for-4.
