FUND RECOMMENDATIONS

At its June meeting held earlier this week, the DNR Board recommended $1.2 million in federal funds for recreational projects in 15 Georgia locations this week. The funding would come via the Land and Water Conservation Fund and would need final approval from the Department of the Interior. Included in the recommendations are $80,000 to refurbish campsites and other areas at War Hill Park in Dawson County, $100,000 for renovations at Ducktown Park in Forsyth County and $100,000 for construction in Rockdale County of a trailhead for the South River Trail section of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area Trail.
