> BIG MEN IN ACTION: One of the better big-man battles of the season unfolded at Philips Arena on Friday night between Hawks rookie center Al Horford and New York Knicks power forward Zach Randolph. Isolated on each other on offense and defense for most of the night, Randolph, a seven-year veteran, got the better end of the deal statistically, outscoring (29-20) and outrebounding (17-11) Horford. But the Hawks got the win, and Horford made an impression that shouldn't fade anytime soon. He was 8-for-14 from the floor and made Randolph work overtime on offense and defense.
> DETAILS TO COME: With the Hawks' March 8 replay game just days away, the parameters of that game have yet to be revealed. The NBA office is expected to announce them early next week. The Hawks and Heat have to replay the final 51.9 seconds of the Dec. 19 game the Hawks won because of a protest of a scorer's error that the Heat filed and won.
> SUNDAY'S LAW: Hawks coach Mike Woodson said he hoped to have rookie point guard Acie Law IV back in uniform for Sunday's game in Boston. Law has missed four straight games with a sprained right wrist, an injury suffered on a drive to the basket against Sacramento last week. The Hawks have had to play Mike Bibby extended minutes in his absence while also using Josh Childress, Joe Johnson and even Marvin Williams to initiate the offense.
> NEW DIGS FOR LUE? Former Hawks point guard Tyronn Lue didn't spent much time in Sacramento. The Kings waived the veteran point guard Friday, clearing the way for Lue to join a playoff contender for the remainder of the season.
