What was said following Georgia Tech’s 35-24 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-3 heading into their bye week:

"Anytime you win a game it's a real positive. While we didn't play perfect, we made enough plays to win." — Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson.

-

"I really felt like the third-and-13 that they converted, if we could have gotten them off the field there I felt like with the momentum we had we could have buried them right there." — Johnson

-

"I still think we left some out there." — Johnson.

-

"We can't get on the field. You're not going to get a lot of yards when you can't get the ball." — Johnson.

-

"We sure haven't played our best football yet on both offense and defense. Hopefully that's in front of us." — Johnson

-

"We were pretty upset from last week against Pitt. We felt like we had played a good game but came up short. This is a huge team win for us moving forward." — wide receiver Brad Stewart.

-

"Coach Roof allowed us to play more free. Playing an option team like Georgia Southern, you can't sit back and wait." — safety Corey Griffin

-

"It was great. Coach Johnson challenged us all week about making the change. We just stuck it to it and kept it in the back of our minds what he said." — safety A.J. Gray on not giving up a touchdown on the first drive.

-

"In the game I didn't think too much about it. Parker (Braun) has been playing a lot this year. They are good. They made the calls like they were supposed to. They did their job." — quarterback Justin Thomas on the two freshmen starting on the left side of the offensive line.

-

"I think our record doesn't show how good we are, to be honest. I think we are a lot better than we are showing, record-wise. As long as we keep playing, stay close together it should all work itself out in the second half of the season." — Thomas

-

"There is no part of that makes us want to feel good about any part of today. We walked in here today playing an opponent that we certainly expected to beat." — Georgia Southern coach Tyson Summers.
