Georgia State men’s basketball headed to Dominican Republic

The Georgia State men's basketball team will travel to Dominican Republic this summer with Samaritan's Feet, a charity that coach Ron Hunter has worked with for several years.

The team will travel to Santo Domingo from July 31-August 7. They will hand out shoes to children.

The team has visited South Africa in 2012 and Costa Rica in 2014.

The Panthers are in the midst of summer workouts. The squad returns Jeremy Hollowell, Isaiah Williams, Austin Donaldson, Isaiah Dennis and Jeff Thomas. It will welcome transfers Willie Clayton (Charlotte) and Devin Mitchell (Alabama), as well as freshmen D’Marcus Simonds and Chris Clerkley.

Hunter needs to win five games to surpass Bob Reinhart as the winningest coach in program history. Reinhart won 107 games.
