Former Georgia coach Mark Richt, now at Miami, has hired his son Jon as an offensive assistant for the Hurricanes.
Jon Richt, a former college quarterback, has been working with the Buffalo Bills. He was an unpaid staffer with the Bulldogs at the end of the 2014 season, working with QBs. There are nepotism rules at Georgia that prevented Richt from hiring his son for a salaried position there.
Todd Hartley, who had been the Bulldogs' recruiting coordinator, was officially hired by Richt as Miami's special teams coordinator. Hartley is still with Georgia as the Bulldogs prepare for the Gator Bowl.
Richt also officially announced the hiring of Thomas Brown as co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach. Brown has been Georgia’s running backs coach and is continuing in that role through Saturday’s game against Penn State.
