The Astros received relieving news Tuesday night.

After a head-first slide into home plate in the fourth inning, shortstop Carlos Correa left the game with what appeared to be a hand injury.

Later clarified as left thumb discomfort, Correa’s X-rays came back as negative. His thumb got caught in Braves’ catcher Tyler Flowers’ shin guard on the slide.

Voted in as the starting shortstop in this year’s All-Star Game, Correa has been an integral part of Houston’s lineup, which has led it to an MLB-best record of 57-27. Since struggling to a .233 average in April, Correa has hit .355 with 15 homers and 50 RBIs.

According to Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle, Correa hopes to play Wednesday in Atlanta.
