ATHENS — Georgia could be down two defensive linemen at LSU, according to coach Kirby Smart.

Junior defensive end David Marshall has a left foot injury and is out indefinitely. Smart said following Tuesday’s practice that “it doesn’t look good for this game” where Marshall’s status is concerned.

Reserve nose guard DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle is also out, Smart said, without offering more details on the senior.

Smart said sophomore nose guard Devonte Wyatt could make the trip to LSU, where the No. 2-ranked Bulldogs play at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday (TV: CBS, Radio: WSB 750 AM, 95.5 FM).

Wyatt didn’t play in last Saturday’s 41-13 win against Vanderbilt on account of a leg injury he suffered last week in practice.

“Devonte is rehabbing hard, we think he might be able to go,” Smart said. “He’s been running for two days.”

Smart said sophomore Malik Herring and graduate transfer Jay Hayes will be called upon to get the 15 to 20 snaps Marshall was playing each game.

Freshman Jordan Davis stepped up in Wyatt’s place last Saturday and made a fourth down stop, earning the respect of teammates and guarded praise from the head coach.

Smart said sophomore left guard Solomon Kindley was moving around good on the practice field after suffering a sprained right knee (MCL) in the win over the Commodores.

Junior Ben Cleveland, who started the first four games at right guard, remains sidelined indefinitely after suffering a broken bone in his right leg in the 43-29 win at Missouri.

“We’re a dinged up football team, which a lot of teams are this time of year,” Smart said. “We have a lot of mistakes that we have to clean up as we put the game plan in.”
