The Warriors’ Stephen Curry has four of the top eight all-time seasons for number of 3-pointers.

Steph Curry was aware he was closing in on an NBA record.
He just didn’t know how close he really was to the distinction.
The Warriors guard enters tonight’s game against the Hawks with a 3-pointer in 125 straight games. It’s just short of the record of 127 straight games held by the Hawks’ Kyle Korver.
“I’m aware of it, for sure,” Curry said Monday morning following shootaround. “I don’t know where I’m at but I know what (Korver) was able to accomplish.”
When informed he was just two shy of the record, Curry raised his eyebrows.
“It’s just that level of consistency and longevity of being able to knock down 3’s no matter what the situation is and game after game,” Curry said. “Honestly, when I first heard about it was the middle of last year. I thought that was a crazy record that would be tough to top. It’s a big part of my game and what I do. I have a lot of confidence shooting the ball so hopefully I can get there. Kyle has been a standard for a lot of the 3-point records. Any time you do something special, his name pops up. It means a lot.”
When asked about his 3-point record being in jeopardy, Korver joked.
“Yeah, I think every record is in jeopardy,” he said. “I’m sure he’ll get it. He shoots like 10 or 12 a game. He’s probably going to go for 300. It’s always nice to hold on to a record but records are made to be broken. You never know, maybe it will go down tonight.”
Curry leads the NBA in 3-pointers made for the fourth straight year. He already has 255 3-pointers this season, good for the seventh most all-time in a single year. In fact, he owns four of the top eight seasons, including the No. 1 spot of 286 set last year.
“The thing that I’m most impressed with when watch him play is his body control and balance. He can always change direction, he can always shoot, he can always drive and he’s completely in charge of his body at all times. That makes him hard to guard.”
Curry could tie the record at the Heat on Wednesday and own it outright at the Magic on Thursday.
