After going 2-for-4 in a Triple-A game for the Gwinnett Braves on Wednesday afternoon, Lane Adams pinch-hit in the seventh inning of the Braves’ 14-1 win against the Phillies on Wednesday night, a rare double-duty feat.

Adams, 27, became the first player in nearly three years to play in a minor league game and a major league game in the same day, after Kyle Parker did it for the Rockies and their Triple-A team on June 16, 2014.

Adams popped out with bases loaded in the seventh inning Wednesday night after being called up in the afternoon when the Braves put third baseman Adonis Garcia on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained finger. Adams stayed in the game in left field and grounded out in the eighth inning.

It’s the second major league stint this season for Adams, who went 3-for-9 with an RBI and two stolen bases in nine games (no starts) for the Braves from April 27 through May 7.
