Chipper Jones spent his entire playing career with the Atlanta Braves.

In Vegas there is hardly ever a sure bet.

Longtime Braves slugger Chipper Jones, who retired in 2012, is among the players who’ll likely be on a Hall of Fame ballot for the first time in 2018.

At least 10 former Braves -- Chipper Jones, Fred McGriff, J.D. Drew, Edgar Renteria, Derrek Lee, Billy Wagner, Gary Sheffield, Kevin Millwood, Livan Hernandez and Andruw Jones - could be eligible for induction.

Chipper, the 1999 league MVP and two-time Silver Slugger, finished his career with a .303 batting average, .529 slugging percentage and 468 home runs (third most by a switch hitter).

Impressive numbers, right?

Vegas oddsmakers, while still considering him a lock to gain the necessary votes to gain admission, don't give Chipper the best odds in 2018. The honor goes to longtime San Diego Padres closer Trevor Hoffman, who fell five votes short this year.
