  • The Thrashers are 3-0-2 in their past five games and entered Wednesday’s NHL schedule in 10th place in the conference, one point out of eighth place and two out of seventh.
  • The Islanders are coming off a Tuesday win over the Blackhawks, only their third win the past 12 games.
  • John Tavares, the first overall pick in last year’s draft, has 17 goals and 34 points for the Islanders. He is second in both categories among NHL rookies.
