The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Thrashers forward Ilya Kovalchuk made the trip to New York for the team’s game against the Rangers tonight and is now a “game-time” decision.

The high-scoring forward took part in the team’s morning practice on Thursday.

Kovlachuk, who has missed nearly three weeks with a broken bone in his right foot, was expected to play after returning to practice this week. However, after leaving the ice before Wednesday’s practice, the team said he would not play against the Rangers.

Thrashers coach John Anderson said following Thursday's skate that his gut feeling is Kovalchuk will play.
