Hawks' Johnson, Horford earn All-Star spots

Joe Johnson and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks have made the NBA All-Star Game, an NBA source has told the AJC's Michael Cunningham.
It is the first time that two Hawks have made the Eastern Conference team since 1998.
The reserves for the East and West All-Star teams are to be announced this evening on TNT. It is Johnson's fourth All-Star team and Horford's first. Notably left off is Hawks forward Josh Smith, who had made a goal of making this year's All-Star Game, to be played Feb. 14 in Arlington, Texas.
Other East reserves include Toronto's Chris Bosh, Chicago's Derrick Rose, Boston's Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo and Charlotte's Gerald Wallace.
After fans voted for the starters, coaches voted on the reserves. Hawks coach Mike Woodson sent letters to the Eastern Conference's coaches to make the case for Johnson, Horford, Smith and guard Jamal Crawford.
The West reserves are the Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Lakers' Pau Gasol, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, New Orleans' Chris Paul, Portland's Brandon Roy, Utah's Deron Williams and Memphis' Zach Randolph.
