Ex-Jacket West among Hawks' cuts
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Hawks cut Mario West and Courtney Sims from the training camp roster before Wednesday's practice and rookie Garrett Siler after practice, leaving 13 players on the roster.
Othello Hunter is the only free agent who remains.
West, a former Georgia Tech standout, made the team as a free agent in each of the past two seasons.
A fan favorite and defensive specialist, West played in 53 games last season. He averaged 5.1 minutes and 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 points.
West played in 64 games during his rookie campaign, averaging 4.2 minutes, 0.9 points and 0.8 rebounds.
Unlike West and Sims, Siler worked out with the team before he was given the news of his release.
