FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons running back Michael Turner won the FedEx Ground player of the week award on Friday for his 166-yard rushing performance last week against the Washington Redskins.

Turner was selected for the award over Cincinnati's Cedric Benson and Tennessee Chris Johnson.
For winning the award, which was also voted on by fans, FedEx will donate $1,000 to the local Safe Kids Coalition in Atlanta. Safe Kids USA is a national non-profit organization that works to prevent accidental injury among children.
