Falcons sign veteran linebacker Winborn

The Falcons announced the signing of linebacker Jamie Winborn today. To open a roster spot for him, the team waived linebacker Rashad Bobino.

Winborn, 5-foot-11, 230 pounds, is entering his ninth season in the NFL. He played for San Francisco from 2001-04, Jacksonville in 2005, Tampa Bay in 2006 and Denver in 2007-08.
Falcons coach Mike Smith was the Jacksonville defensive coordinator during Winborn’s season with the Jaguars.
In 92 career games, including 32 starts, Winborn has 407 tackles (105 solo), 10 sacks, three interceptions, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Bobino signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in May.
